Best Whale Watching Tour Experiences in Hawaii
Every winter North Pacific Humpback Whales navigate their way to Hawaii from Alaska as part of their natural migration. These animals can weigh up to 40 ton and they are some of the largest whales in the world! What makes Humpback Whales so amazing to see in the wild is their very graceful acrobatics. They have a tendency to breach, especially as they are migrating, and this can have the animal push an astonishing 40% of their body out of the water!
The peak season to go whale watching in Hawaii is between January to March. The whales can be found in the waters between November up until May but spotting a whale out in some of the channels is much higher in frequency from January to March.
Various whale watching tours can locate the whales, as well as provide education about the history of Humpbacks in Hawaii and their migration all the way from Alaska down into the Gulf of Mexico.
