Whether this is your first time experiencing SCUBA, you’re an uncertified diver, or it’s just been a while, this is the perfect choice for you!

Our experienced, professionally certified PADI instructors will guide you through your first breaths underwater, or reintroduce you to your passion. With a maximum depth of 40 feet (12 meters) and a very small ratio of divers per instructor, you will be personally supervised under the safest conditions. Don’t worry, you’ll still get to see all the amazing marine life our island has to offer.

This program is conducted in the same areas as our regular tours but will guide you through the necessary steps and includes:

  • Knowledge Development Session – The instructor will discuss with you the basic diving knowledge to dive safely.
  • Equipment Review – You will learn what each piece of dive gear is, what is it for, and how to use it properly.
  • In Water Skills Practice – Your initial time spent in the water will be at the surface. There you will practice locating and using the equipment, breathing and equalization techniques, and other essential skills. Your instructor will take you on a guided tour of our Hawaiian waters where you can encounter sea turtles, octopus, hundreds of different fish, and much more. Discover the world few have seen!

Activity Company: Banzai Divers Hawaii

Dive Site:

Electric Beach – 15 to 30 ft (4-9m)

This site is a favorite among local divers! It’s nestled outside the busy city of Honolulu on the beautiful southwest coastline. With the sandy beach entry and shallow depths it is a good choice for all experience levels. Located across the street from the electric plant one of the main highlights is the massive outflow pipe used by the plant to cool their systems. Warm water is pumped out of the pipe creating a playground for all the marine life. Huge schools of native fish and green sea turtles love to get blown around in this outflow like a blooper reel from Finding Nemo! Keep your eyes and ears open as dolphins, monk seals, and rays famously swoop through this area too. Don’t miss an opportunity to get a selfie with the sunken Buddha statue!

I needed a bit of confidence before getting in the water with my new underwater camera. The PADI certified instructors here were patient and helped get me back up to speed and confidence of that I could try a few dives on my vacation.

It had been a few years since I had been diving and the majority of my experience was in fresh water. This refresher course was exactly what I needed to feel confident in enjoying some of the undersea environments that Hawaii had offer. The instructors here are so patient!

My son and daughter wanted to learn how to Scuba and they talked me out to doing it too! We did and it was the best bonding ever! We enjoyed and learned scuba diving basics! Looking forward to taking a Certification Course soon!

The first time we went to Hawaii, my children were 7 and 8 and we weren’t able to do scuba. Now we went back and they are already 10 and 11! We were able to scuba dive and it was a blast! We are now thinking of making this a family thing every time we go to Hawaii!

Scuba diving is like snorkeling but to the highest level! Staying longer underwater and just enjoying the different marine lives is just amazing!
