Restrictions/Requirements:

  • All ages 5 and up are welcome on public tours. Car seats are provided for young children.
  • Maximum 13 passengers per tour.
  • This tour is not recommended for women who are pregnant or may be pregnant.
  • Passengers traveling with a wheelchair or walker are more than welcome to join our tour. Please note, our vans are equipped to handle easy storage of a wheelchair or other medical equipment. But we do not have a wheelchair lift.
  • Our tours operate rain or shine, though itineraries may be adjusted in response to severe weather conditions. Access to certain parts of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, including during events like active lava flows or eruptions, may be restricted or closed by park officials without notice. In such cases, Kailani Tours does not offer partial refunds for any part of the tour affected by these restrictions. With our vast experience navigating these occasional closures, we will make the absolute most of your day with us, no matter the conditions.

Location:  Round-trip transportation with pick-ups from all Waikoloa, Mauna Lani, and Hapuna hotels and resorts.

Special Notes:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time and allow a 5-minute window for your driver to arrive.
  • Lunch is included in the tour, but Kailani Tours recommends having a hearty breakfast prior to departure. Snacks and drinks are available multiple times throughout the tour.

  • Waimea Scenic Drive – Rolling pastures and paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) history.
  • Hamakua Coast – Drive past lush valleys, waterfalls, and dramatic ocean cliffs.
  • Hilo Rest Stop – Quick restroom break and a chance to stretch your legs.
  • Hawaii Volcanoes National Park – Two hours exploring steaming vents, craters, and volcanic landscapes.
  • Gil Kahele Recreation Area – Short rest stop.
  • Return via Saddle Road – Scenic mountain drive back to North Hawaii resorts.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time and allow a 5-minute window for your driver to arrive.
