On this adventure, you will hike up to 3 miles and see some of our favorite sights. Traverse ancient lava fields and witness the power of active volcanic landscapes that continue to shape the island. Whether you’re standing at the rim of Halemaumau Crater, hiking through steam vents and craters, or learning about native flora and fauna, each moment offers a deeper connection to the natural and cultural wonders of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Perfect for curious explorers and nature lovers alike, this experience is designed to inspire awe and leave you with a profound appreciation for one of the world’s most active volcanoes.
Please Note: This is a hiking adventure. Guests unable to hike a minimum of 3 miles should consider joining our Volcano, Chocolate, and Waterfalls – Kona.

*Round trip. Travel time is approximately 4 hours from Waikoloa.
Highlights:
- Experience Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with your naturalist guide as you visit the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea.
- Hike the Park’s dynamic and dramatic landscapes from native forest and volcanic crater views to steam vents and lava tubes, your guide will choose the best trails depending on the Park’s activity and conditions.
- Explore off-the-beaten-path trails with your interpretive guide, as they bring the island’s history, geology, and culture to life.
- Enjoy a fully inclusive and immersive experience at the Park, which includes all snacks, beverages, lunch, and gear for the day
Includes:
- Deli-style lunch, beverages, snacks.
- Gear Provided: Trekking poles, flashlights, daypacks, rain gear, bug repellent, and sunscreen.
Recommendations:
- Wear or bring long pants.
- light jacket or sweatshirt.
- Any personal sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.)
Restrictions/Requirements:
- The minimum age is 6 years old.
- Guests should not be physically challenged or unable to hike distances on uneven terrain.
- Guests must be able to hike 3 miles.
- Closed-toed shoes and a reusable water bottle are required.
- Minimum 4 pax per van / Maximum 12 pax per van

- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time.
- Please Note: The most recent Kilauea eruption has ceased, and there is no viewable active lava in the Park.

- 7:50 AM – Four Seasons Resort Hualalai (Front Entrance)
- 8:00 AM – Kona Village Resort (Front Entrance)
- 8:20 AM – Queens’ Market Place (Look for The Yoga Barre, and we’ll be at the curb by the two yellow umbrellas)
- 8:30 AM – Shops at Mauna Lani (In front of the Foodland Store)
- 9:50 AM – Imiloa Astronomy Center
