Step into the heart of Hawai‘i’s pineapple heritage with the Pineapple Planting Experience—a hands-on, educational tour designed for those who want to dig deeper.
Suit up in custom farm chaps and plant your very own pineapple in Maui’s rich volcanic soil. Then journey across the farm to learn about every stage of cultivation—from planting the crown to harvesting the golden fruit.
Taste pineapples at different stages of ripeness to understand how flavor evolves over time. You’ll also visit our processing center, where you’ll discover how sweetness is measured through Brix testing and pack your own freshly harvested pineapple to take home.

Schedule:
- Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Closed Saturday and Sunday)

- Bring sunscreen and bug spray as this is an outdoor tour.

Restrictions/Requirements:
- Minimum Age is 3 years old. Children under 3 are not allowed. This includes children carried on the body, strollers, etc.
- Closed-toe shoes (REQUIRED, no sandals, please).
- Smoking is not allowed in any of the activities. There are designated smoking areas at the Kapalua Adventure Center
- Tour is not ADA accessible.
- You must sign a waiver.

Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour time.
Special Notes:
- Please note that each time represents one tour bus. To ensure your party will be seated together please make sure all tickets are purchased for the same bus.
- Not ADA Accessible: Guests must be able to get on and off the bus (3 large steps) about 3 times and be able to stand for about 20 minutes at a time. There’s also a short portion where you walk through the packing plant, which is flat-level ground. There’s no room on vehicles to store walkers.
- Please bring a credit or debit card for any purchases (no cash accepted).

- Processing: Process and package your own pineapple to take home and enjoy!
