The Kaka’ako is a retail district located in Honolulu that also offers a large number of commercial properties. It acts as the main bridge between Ala Moana and the downtown Honolulu area. Kaka’ako is located on the cell’s stores of Oahu and has long been one of the most thriving native communities in Hawaii. This area was once reserved as a place for royalty to live.

The area was once used as a primary area for salt making, wetland agriculture and Fish Pond farming.
